The Plains Hotel Blends Western Charm and Modern Convenience
Amenities complement beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites

2006, Cheyenne, Wyoming … Whether you’re in town for business or pleasure, the historic Plains Hotel will make sure you’re treated to the Western hospitality that’s been a favorite of presidents, movie stars and cattle barons for more than 90 years. Located in the heart of downtown Cheyenne, Wyo., the hotel’s Western artwork, photography and artifacts blend with stained glass, custom-designed furniture and bed coverings to create a cowboy high-style décor.

The Plains Hotel completed a multi-million dollar renovation in 2003, and features 131 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites. The elegantly restored lobby, complete with stained-glass skylights, marble floors and a baby grand piano, welcomes guests with its rich, Western style. An on-site day spa, fitness center and full-service business center provide guests with modern conveniences and technology, surrounded by a sophisticated High Plains atmosphere. Amenities such as oversized desks, 27” televisions, clock radios, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, and thick, terry cloth towels make every visitor feel right at home.

Thirty luxurious parlor and two-room suites offer all of the above, plus living rooms with sofa beds, spacious closets, free wireless high-speed internet access, voice mail, electronic locks, refrigerators, tiled bathrooms with separate granite-top vanities, coffee makers with complimentary coffee, and plush, cotton bathrobes. The spacious King Presidential Suite includes a wet bar, two bathrooms, whirlpool tub, walk-in shower, refrigerator, microwave and dining table that seats six.

For the ultimate old West experience, the American Cowboy Suite is the way to go. This upscale suite is currently being remodeled, with completion scheduled for July 2006. From the plank floor in the foyer, to pine walls lined with cowboy hats, the American Cowboy Suite has it all. The dining and wet bar area is a salute to Wyoming ranches, with cowboy dishes, a copper and tin ceiling, artwork, spurs, and wall hangings. A wagon-wheel coffee table takes center stage in the living room, which features Hollywood cowboy posters and hall of fame photographs along with a television, VCR and DVD player. The bedroom includes a log-post bed, antelope chandelier, and Western art by Howard Terpning, widely known as the “Storyteller of the Native American.”

For event and meeting planners, the Plains has more than 9,000 square feet of meeting, mingling and banquet space with high-tech infrastructure that includes free high-speed wireless internet. The award-winning catering and professional banquet staff, and a dedicated meeting services liaison to assist with meeting arrangement, menu planning and facility coordination, ensure every event becomes a special occasion.
